One of last year’s best new dramas is set to return to BBC1 this Spring as Rupert Penry-Jones and Maxine Peake return to British TV screens for the much anticipated Silk season two. Last season ended with Martha Costello (Peake) defying the odds to earn the much coveted silk. Her detractors including Clive Reader (Penry-Jones) are convinced that her selection had more to do with political correctness than her legal acumen but Costello is determined to prove them wrong.
Rupert-Penry Jones’ Whitechapel co-star Phil Davis is among the big name guest stars who will be joining the show for season two. Recent Doctor Who villain Frances Barber, Indira Varma (Luther) and fast rising star Shaun Evans (Endeavour) are also among the cast. Precise air dates have yet to be revealed but stay tuned for further updates.
